Hi, I’m Gary and welcome to my website. I’m a professional photographer based in Wollaton, Nottingham. My contemporary approach to photography has gained me a reputation for delivering unique and highly inventive photographs. I have nurtured my photo studio and business over the years so I am able to offer commercial photography, wedding photography, model and fashion photography, engagement photography, product photography, portrait photography and I even photograph parties, shows and special events. I have been a professional photographer since 2010. I graduated from West Notts Art College in 1981 and I have always had a creative streak with an eye for detail, this has really helped to develop my photography career.

Its great fun to meet with my clients and brainstorm ideas on how to achieve the photographs that really reflect their personalities, business or style. I am experienced in projects which require unique imagery whether in a family portrait sitting, commercial product photography in the studio or even at a wedding I always relish the challenge my clients set for me. Whether I am held strictly to a brief or you need some creative input, I am a photographer that welcomes any photographic challenge, big or small.

I first became interested in photography when I was given a kodak instamatic in 1977 when I was 13 but my first introduction to film and SLR’s in 1982. I found all the mixing of chemicals and fluids quite tedious and being stuck in a darkroom for hours didnt really help. It wasn’t until 10 years after the advent of the first commercial digital camera in 1990 that I started to sit up and take notice. I purchased a point and shoot, it was however quite basic but it was handy and I loved the practicability of it. In 2009 I purchased my first DSLR and I fell in love with the creativity it allowed me. My business started first with friends and family asking me to take a few photos for them, that grew until it was friends of friends of friends. More and more people were asking until I realised that I might be able to make a living out of professional photography. I opened my first studio in 2010 in Beeston, Nottingham and although it was pretty much a baptism of fire I loved it and worked 24/ 7 to develop my skills further. Since 2013 my studio has been in in Wollaton, Nottingham and my business has really taken off, I currently shoot around 35-45 weddings a year. My family sessions have been a mainstay since I started and I have families coming back to me year after year. My commercial and model photography is starting to take up more of my time.
